The Anand family has a long and successful history of catering behind them, originating from Nairobi, Kenya.
The Anand family came to the United Kingdom in 1975 from Kenya and have been in the catering business ever since. They opened their first restaurant in the UK, The Brilliant and then Madhu's in Middlesex, Curry Craze in Wembley, Curry Special in Ilford, Curry Fever in Leicester to name a few. All of which are still very successful today.

In 2004 while lead chef at Madhu's, working with Sanjay Anand (MBE), Shelley Anand and his team were awarded "Best UK Restaurant" by The Good Curry Club and also " Best Outside Catering" award by Cobra Good Curry Guide Awards.
Now with his brother Sunny, Shelley has opened Nottingham's newest Authentic Indian Restaurant The Cumin. Based around the traditional Indian Restaurant with a touch of modern decor, to create a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Our capacity is 74 covers over two floors, 20 on the ground and 54 on the first floor, which offers more privacy from the road.
Our first floor restaurant is an ideal venue for private functions, with full sound system into which you may plug in your own music or let us arrange a DJ.
Also being in the city centre, we are an ideal place to hold your business meetings, lunches. AN over head projection system and WiFi internet connections will be available soon.

The creative menu caters for all tastes and our trained staff will be happy to advise you on some dishes you will not have been before. With a back ground in East Africa they have incorporated some African tastes and ingredients. With dishes such as Jeera Mogo (cassava) and Tilapia fish, which is found in Lake Victoria and East African Tusker Beer.
