The Anand family have a long and successful history of catering, originating from their home in Nairobi, Kenya. They came to the UK in 1975 and have been in the catering business ever since. Their first restaurant in the UK was The Brilliant, followed by Madhu’s, both in Middlesex. These were followed by Curry Craze in Wembley, Curry Special in Ilford and Curry Fever in Leicester, all of which are still very successful today.

Now this principle is being followed by Sunny Anand who has opened Nottingham's newest Authentic Indian Restaurant, The Cumin. It is based around the traditional Indian restaurant with a touch of modern decor to create a relaxed and comfortable dining environment.
The restaurant capacity is 74 covers over two floors, 20 on the ground and 54 on the first floor. Our first floor restaurant offers more privacy from the road and is an ideal venue for private functions, with a full sound system into which you are welcome to plug in your own music or allow us to arrange a DJ.

Owner and Executive Chef Shelley has created a menu which caters for all tastes.
With his background in East Africa, Shelley has incorporated some African tastes and ingredients, dishes such as Jeera Mogo (Cassava) and Tilapia fish, which is found in Lake Victoria, and drinks such as East African Tusker Beer. With Shelley's passion for creative cooking, our menu is always evolving from healthier options to new seasonal ingredients.
